Our partners – Nuestras contrapartes
Green Forum has partners in three continents working towards becoming green parties or achieving a sustainable inclusive development in their respective countries. Below you can read briefly about some of their work.
In Guatemala, the NGO CEMAT has since 1977 supported youth and women organizations, with a focus on the indigenous population, in their struggles towards an equal society. Their aim is an active civil participation of the marginalized who have influence on electoral platforms and local policy making. CEMAT works for the development of democratic systems and civil liberties. It is concerned about the need to make significant changes of environmental policies of the country. All member organization under the umbrella of CEMAT have a green agenda as a strategy for local and national development.
-The green agenda is about respect and protection of human life, of all living beings, and the earth itself. That is what CEMAT promotes among its target groups together with the need for a comprehensive sustainable development, that improves quality of life and the development of the Guatemalan population locally and nationally, says Matilde Baján, general coordinator at CEMAT.
-This will be accomplished through participatory processes that generate and promote further economic, ecological, social and political development of the country, says Matilde Baján.
