Today, 15th of September, we celebrate the International Day of Democracy, with the theme of “Empowering the next generation”, which focuses on the essential role that young people play in advancing democracy around the world. Democracy is not only a goal, but also a process that requires the full participation of all citizens, especially youth and other marginalized groups, to make it a reality for everyone, everywhere.

A political leadership program for young people

The Programme for Young Politicians in Africa (PYPA) empowers the next generation to be leaders of today, not only tomorrow. It equips its participants with the skills and knowledge they need to become effective democratic leaders and represent their constituencies well. We salute the achievements of young women and men who are active in the political space and who are making a difference in their communities.
